just one bag would suffice in most schools

My daughter only had an option of a school bag - what does the school recommend? Can you talk to a reception mum or see them coming out at home time?

My reception DS has a book bag with school logo, pe kit bag (just any old rucksack) and a lunch bag. HTH

At our school they seem to have book bags in infants and rucksacks for juniors

School told us what to get. They agree with nowwearefour....

My school gives every child a bookbag which the children are meant to bring in each day. My DD leaves her PE kit bag on her peg and as she has school dinners has no need for a lunch bag.

at our school you need school bag with fruit/water general stuff in, book bag for books only, pe bag stays in school, lunch bag if you have packed lunch. If your child takes water to school you could not use the book bag for everything as if the water spills the books would be ruined.
