Great music course recommendation

Not sure where to put this but DS1 has just had a fab week on a music course at a place called Beauchamp house in gloucestershire. He is only 11 and it was his first week away from home w/o family, so it is a testament to the organisers that he had such a fab time. The tutors and welfare staff were all young and enthusiastic, they worked really hard covering grade 1-5 music theory in a week, but also took them bowling/themeparks and in the evenings after cocoa organised concerts/parties and barndances. Every time ds phoned you could tell how excited he was. At the end of the week they sit last years grade 5 theory paper and ds got 83% which is fantastic considering he went knowing nothing!
Only mentioning it as a friend saw a little ad for it in a local music shop and I thought more people might want to know about it.

Grade 5 theory in a week - that is very impressive! I thought my charges were doing well doing a grade a term.

I thought so too. DS went with a friend who has been struggling for a couple of terms with grade 3 and he got 63% at the end, so great teaching. I think the intensity is the thing, bit like one of those intensive driving courses!

I think it was about £200 for the week, which included all meals etc (though they were camping!).
They do lots of other courses, that week there was also a grade 6 strings course. DS is angling to go on a "jazz" course next yr, they also do musical theatre.
Yes, ds will do real exam this term, is full of enthusiasm and want to do grade 6 theory next. He plays the trumpet.
