She is not yet 10 and will be doing her 11+ in November as we live in an area with great grammer schools - and although the local comp is really good they are only interested in hitting targets so kids who are clever like DD get forgotten about.
Well we got a letter about DD starting a after school 11+ class in September - the letter said they will sit a test in September and if they get over 40/100 they will be ok to do the cramming before the exam to try and reach the pass mark of 90/100 and hopefully get into one of the 2 local grammers.
Well my lovely little girl who has spent her whole life with her head in a book and lacks any common sense what so ever sat one of the past papers and today we got her mark - 89/100 - I am thrilled with her, she is immensly proud of herself and I can't stop thinking that I am not such a crap mother after all - I was told by my stepmonster that I would be a terriblepushy mother so have made sure I didn;t do that and let the kids take things at their own pace and at last I feel that I am actually making a really good job of being a good mum.
Sorry for the bragging but DD is so wonderful, passed her Grade 1 clarinet after 2 terms of lessons and is just the nicest, prettiest, kindest little girl I know and she deserves some proud vibes even if they are frompeople she doesn;t know.
