Hi all,
I am new to Mumsnet & I'm hoping there is someone out there who can help. We are looking to move, possibly to Chobham, Surrey, but I am having nightmares over schooling for my three kids - a 13 year old boy (yr 8) and boy/girl twins (Year 3). There seems to be plenty of good junior schools in the area, so I should get the younger two in somewhere acceptable, but what about secondary schools? I know there is no chance of Gordons, which leaves Woking High and Winston Churchill in Woking and Charters in Sunningdale as the nearest schools. As far as I can tell, Chobham falls outside any of their catchement areas - it doesn't seem to fall into any school's catchment area. The local authority aren't very helpful, they just say it depends on the year - we might get them in, we might not. As if I'm going to move to an area where there is no school available or a duff school! Why is it all so complcated? By the way, I'm not Catholic, in fact, not remotely religious and I am not prepared to lie about it either - so that rules my kids out of access to many of the good schools. The price of integrity!!
Is there anyone in the Chobham area that knows how it works? Thanks
Jools
