My daughter who is 8 and in Yr 3, the teacher told me yesterday that they are concerned about my daughter in class, because she just cannot get maths and she is a slow worker anyway, so now she is on the concerned list they told me.

She see's a teacher assistant and the special needs teacher once a week? and I pay for a private tutor on a saturday to boost her confidence and off course extra help for maths. I have asked for the education from the local council to test her? Do you think I should be worried.

Thanks Pixie, but I should also mention she goes to a welsh school and neither myself or my husband speaks welsh, I have been up the school a number of times, because I am concerned about her. And her teacher has said she is better in welsh than english.

My sister has also mentioned she may have dyslexia as her son has it.
