Michael Gove has announced that the GTC doesn't help children learn or teachers teach so it's going to go - hooray.

So do I still need to pay this year's "subscription"?

So, is the GTCS (GTC Scotland) going too?

Coderoo - yes, he was banned. Do you really think he should have told his headteacher, even though it happened out of school time, and in no way affected his ability to do his job, or put his students at any risk?

am sure is in contract that you have to disclose all. G t c still shit tho

It would affect the CRB clearance, rendering it invalid- were there a further problem, there would be hell to pay and the school would have been liable.

So yes, he should have declared it.

I still hate the GTC too.

Looking at the name and shame page, it seems that driving while over the limit is in fact unprofessional conduct. As is drug possession.

Drug possession and in fact any connection with drugs always did get you onto List 99 (barred teacher's list). So that isn't new.

The trouble with the GTC 'unprofessional conduct' is that it's quite vague so they seem to be able to include anything!
