...please tell me what a mark of 127 in a Grade 1 exam means? I've just had a phone message from dd1's flute teacher telling me that was the mark she got, but flute teacher has now gone off to France and I have no way of contacting her to find out what that actually MEANS! She did say congratulations in her message, so I assume it's a pass, but also said that the examiner had been very tough?!

Please put us out of our misery...

It's been a long time for me but thinking back to when I did them Pass was 100 and merit was 120. Can't remember what distinction was 130? 140? If things haven't changed. 127 is good!

I think it's a merit. Hang on, will do a check...

I thought it would be easy to find the mark scheme on Google, but it wasn't...

Tough examiner means she just missed a distinction, too.

Excellent, thanks y'all -- you're better googlers than I am, clearly!

The perfect mark, too, IMO -- enough to reward efforts already put in, but not so high as to make her think she doesn't need to practise next time round.

FAB.

Nah. Not better googlers. Just remember the name of the board that does the exams and searched for that.

Yeah, nice mark though!
