HI
We are relocating back to the UK from Switzerland in 3 months time and
y children have tried out Barfield in Farnham and St Edmunds in Hind head. We are waiting for our house purchase to be on firmer ground before we can make a choice but we are interested in getting some feed back on either of these schools. My 7 yr old son may need some support so we are keen to find the right school for him.Thank you for your time

I liked Barfield, as it has great facilities. But has had a bit of an issue with its last headmaster. A friends son goes there on my recommendation
Although if I lied in the area I would be fighting for South Farnham (state but fab). But then I also really liked Frensham Heights.

I would be inclined to say St Eds they really seem to stretch the children.

There are two equally brilliant schools in Farnham, St Polycarps and South Farnham, they are both state schools, both with OUTSTANDING Ofsteds. Polycarps do tend to develop the whole child as opposed to the part of them that produces results.

My DS has a friend who is bright and her parents sent her to Barfields, she is not being stretched and she is frequently of the type of work my child is doing at St Polycarps.

Unless you are totally hung up on private education, I would save your money until secondary level.

I really believe it would be a waste of money.

Unless of course you are in Hindhead, when St Eds becomes a no brainer.

South Farnham would be great for our daughter but we are relocating from Switzerland and our house has just fallen through so cant get her on to the waiting list and I thing the chance of getting kids into 1st and 4th yr will be tough. We love Frensham Heights but they are not taking any boys for DS year as they only have boys! My DS will need a lot of support as the curicullum here is so behind her plus he cant spell for toffee and has trouble writting. However as I said, since my first post the house has gone so we are a bit up in the air at the same time very down in the dumps!
