A nosey question - re school fees

I'm trying to find out what is the average rate for Independent schools.

So how much do you all pay and how do you pay for the fees? Do you pay from savings or monthly income?

I would like to start saving for fees for when my son goes to secondary in a few years time.

I ususally take great delight in handing over a large envelope of £20s to the school secretary for dd and ds fees. Her face drops as I approach .
If only she could see my tears after I turn to leave

I pay dd's school fees out of income. Educating her privately means we can't/don't do other things we'd like to do. For example, ss far as I know, we have the smallest living space of anyone in her class, and we don't take holidays. But, I'm confident that I've made the right choice.

Our DD1 is in prep, which is £1500 per term inc lunch, outings and insurance. This is paid termly due by first day of term.

Secondary here is marginally cheaper than prep cause it is subsidised by the states of guernsey.

We pay from income, but ususally this will be DH's bonus, so not out of monthly income.

We have three DD's and I have said I'll temp in term time if nec to cover fees when DD3 goes to school.

Most of the parents are really nice and down to earth.

the family that i used to work for pay about £21k for 3 boys for the year....

one in seniors, one in the juniors and one in preprep.

Not the most expensive school around by far.
its a mixed day school
