How many different state secondaries does your primary 'feed'?

Curious, really. I mean by 'feed', how many state secondaries are the DCs in your DCs primary usually likely to go to as opposed to 'crazy shenanigans' to get a DC into another distant school as a one-off?

FWIW my DC's primary serves one secondary, bar perhaps 4 DCs a year who don't live in the catchment of this secondary.

There is no real answer to that in our case. You get into the non-denom state secondaries in our borough of London based on the distance you live from them / their catchment area. There are around 4 secondary schools in our immediate locale, but that might be different for other families who's children attend the same primary school as our DC, iyswim.

In terms of religious schools. it all gets much more complicated. And then we have several selective grammars on our doorstep, too, who take children from quite some distance away.

ermm 4 that I can think of off hand - but I'm sure that there are many more as 1 of those 4 is a hard to get into CoE school in the next town, and the 3 senior schols in the town don't have enough places for all the children leaving primary school - so many go to other ones in surrounding area

We have less than a dozen children in Yr 6 and this year they will be moving on to 3 different secondaries, however our "best " year was when a similar number of pupils went to 7 different secondaries.

When DS was in year6 out of a class of 30 I think there was 10 different schools.

DD last year it was a bit narrower probably 6 or 7

If they all went to "catchment" from where we live we would have a choice of 3 and one school which has just come out of special measures which is further out and nobody applies for.

One apart from the possiblility for practising Christians of a place in a faith school in nearest town - hardly any opt for that as local school is OFSTED "outstanding" and faith school isn't. Life is simple out in the country!

Around 60% of our current Year 6, who live in the eastern side of our catchment area will go to the mixed comprehensive next door, about 20%, from the western side, to one of the two single sex comprehensives. A couple are going to the grammar school in the next town to the north & a couple more to the CofE school to the south.

At least 10 here, all depends on where you live rather than which primary you go to

1 secondary and boys & girls grammar schools. The odd child may get into a grammar in nearby towns too if they score high enough

2 girls grammars in town and one in next town, (4miles away) 1 boys grammar and 2 in next town considered to be "in area" 2 church comprehensives one RC and one C of E, 1 secular co-ed comprehensive, and 2 single sex secondary moderns (high schools)

Its ridiculous. ds3 had a small friendship group at primary and this year all 6 of them are now at different schools. 5 of them state! Furthermore I'm not in a big city!

There is only one state high school in our town, with over 1600 pupils.
There is a private school (very expensive) and there is also a catholic school in the next town.

About 15 but we're in SE London within easy commuting distance to the grammars of Bexley and Bromley in addition to lots of non-selective schools in Lewisham, Greenwich, Westminster, Southwark etc.

One.Good school. Rural. Nwxt nearest middle school is abotu 10 miles away. The "local" middle schools all feed into one high school, which is fortunately only 10 mins away.
