Hi I have a bright boy who is in year three and thinking of moving to either ringwood or fordingbridge. Does anyone know how well secondarys here cater for bright child - as would he achieve his potential iykwim.
QE in Dorset is another potential on the list.
Have heard good things about the area but not sure yet.
Don't really want to put him through grammar system unless we have too and no guarantee of getting in.
Thanks just trying to make decision about area before we make big move a bit further south. Currently at Salisbury.

If your Y3 DS is considered 'bright' I'd assume that means 'on track for 5's in his Y6 SATS'? In which case BWGS should be well within his sights.

Or do you mean by not wanting to put him through the grammar system - not wanting him to go to a SM if he fails the 11+? (IS private an option?). Another kettle of fish altogether. Which is why we live in Chandlers Ford. DS1 is GS material (though could I be arsed with the prepping?), DS2 isn't. If you fear your DS may not pass the 11+, get well away from the catchments.

Ringwood School is incredibly good apparently.
