after a trying to sell out house for nearly 2 years & having a few sales fall through. We managed to find rental accommodation 2 weeks prior to sale completed in early October last year which was liveable & within our price range. It was initially for 4 months with a view to extend on a monthly basis if required. Its was very far from our 1st choice of school this is why & we where looking to buy. We put an offer on a house about the same time, and it was rejected. Finally an offer was accepted just before we moved into the rental, but we had still to negotiate an exchange & completion date. The vendor was in no hurry.
So still no further forward when it was time apply online in Nov.
Which I did I still put my first choice of school as previously data indicated that it was still a possibility we could get this school either from the rental, or what transpired to be our new home which is further away. The 2nd choice is nearer to the new house & 3rd choice slightly nearer to rental.
The sales process took forever & we thought as we had notified the Council Tax Department once we completed that we planned to hopefully move into the new house early/mid Feb that this would amend our address within the system.
I tried to go on line to amend my application early feb to change 2nd choice to first but had missed the online dead line of 29/1. I didn't check my on line details at this time.
We have received our email confirming we got our 3rd choice. Once letter come though we note that our address was showing as the rental. I have to hand in my acceptance form, and of course have to amend the address details as they are incorrect. What happens after this what is the next stage in the process. How will this effect the school placed offered?
Concerned but very confused parent.

The only way to find out is to read your councils admissions booklet (which should be available on their website) and see what it says about changing address. It should tell you exactly what happens in those circumstances.

If your third choice school still has places it shouldn't make a difference. It may not make a difference anyway. In the worst case you will lose the place that has been allocated and be given a place at a school which still has vacancies.

i think you may have left it too late to do much now other than to see if you can go on the back up list for refused placements at the school of your choice do this NOW. suggest you contact also by phone lea and speak to someone about this. if they are at fault for not updating thier records you will have a case of appeal.i did this as they did not change my records and i could prove that i had wrote to them prior to the school allocation and got my school of choice.

Thank you both for your help. I was wondering if admissions has across similar or same before?
