Grant to Cover Course Costs?

Hi,

I really want to do a course in canine communication to enable me to get my advanced certificate and become a dog listener. The only problem is that the course is for a week in June and costs a whopping £1,100!!! That's not all though - travel, accomodation and kennels for my dogs will total at approx £400

I have managed to get a mentor though who is prepared to advise me through out the whole process of setting up - she did the course nearly 10 years ago and has been working full time ever since.

Does anyone know of any grants that might be available? I can only seem to find ones that cover further and higher education courses. I've applied to Horizons but they don't make a decision until the end of May but I really need to put down a deposit before then

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks, Luv Ellie x

No - you need to organise a loan with your bank. They have special types of loan for career development.

Thanks - I did read about them but thought that you had to give a lot of notice to get them but will still try and apply tomorrow. It's definitely worth a try because if you don't try you don't get

Have had a look at cdl's and it works out as 0% interest while you are on the course (which in my case is only 1 week!) and then goes right up to nearly 10% interest
