I was wondering if anyone out there has had experience of dire clashes with their children's school and what did you do about it? I'm frantic about my nephew (as is my sister), as there is such a clash with his school - he's 15- and my sister is getting nowhere with her efforts to try and remedy the situation. She asked for a meeting to set up a Pastoral Support Programme and all that happened was that he was put on report, thereby loosing all breaks and priviledges with the threat of expulsion hanging over his head. The representative from the LEA, was apparantly horrified, was ignored in the meeting and after, urged my sister to contact him again ASAP, as the school was clearly doing nothing to support my nephew and the Pastoral Support Progarmme they set up was a joke! How does she stand legally? My nephew is completely dispirited, feels boxed into a corner and totally apathetic. The school has bee insisting that he 's on drugs (he isn't and believe me,my once errant sister would know!) and has videod him without permission, to 'gain evidence'. The latest thing is that he and about 10 others bunked off to go swimming at the local river (rural area), they were all caught, but only my nephew was given suspension! Please help someone!!!
