Hi everyone,

I am moving to Balham and looking into nurseries at the moment for my 9 month old. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts/feedback on Abacus nursery or Balham Grove nursery or Asquith?

Appreciate any comments, good or bad!

Thanks, Kelly

Not sure if this one is still current?

if so, there are some comments elsewhere on MN about Balham Abacus, although they are not that recent. It should be easy enough to find in the search box at the top. I was also looking at that one but actually I am a bit closer to the Abacus in Streatham Hill, so am more likely to go there (and apparently has a better reputation...)

I dont know about Balham Grove, havent looked at that one.

Also try www.nappeyvalleynet.com for feedback on local nurseries.

Good luck!
Everybody raves about Asquith, but it is pricey, I think over £70 per day.

My dd is at Asquith now but will be moving to Abacus at 12 months. Asquith is okay but not worth the £74.00 a day they are charging! (complete rip-off). Abacus is just as nice if not better and seemed to do more fun things with the kids at a much more reasonable price. It seems a lot of the parents make the switch as soon as their child is old enough!

surely the price difference is down to the number of staff you need to look after babies?

doesn't the price go down as the kids get older at Asquith?
