Does anybody have any experience of Morrisons Academy? I'm thinking of moving my DS there for P6 onwards and looking for feedback on the school.

No but Dollar Academy is amazing.I can't rate it highly enough.

That's another option. I need to arrange a visit. Did you start there from nursery or join later?

there is no nursery.the school goes from 5-18
P6 is a great stage and time to get them in as they have a middle school called the junior school for p6 and p7 which i think are 2 of the best years at the school.they also take in a whole new class so there are about 25 places.
do you live close to dollar or are you closer to crief.(sorry no capitals as i have a baby in my arms)

Morrisons is very good and highly recommended especially if your child is academic.

Glenalmond is good too but better for the sports or arts orientated child.

It's about the same to both Dollar and Morrisons and there is a bus available to both (Glenalmond doesn't work as no transport).

I suppose a lot will be decided by the entrance exam - I think my DS is academic enough but haven't been able to find any examples of tests, does anybody have any guidance here?

Re Dollar is there any divide between day pupils and boarders?

The day pupils are very friendly towards the boarders. From what I can see the boarders have a brilliant time.I know some of the house parents and they are fantastic.

However there are far more day pupils.

Re the entrance test, Kipmagrath (i think thats how you spell it) in Stirling do coaching for the entrance tests.

My friend's daughter started at Morrisons last year (as a day pupil) and whilst she did not know anyone when she first began, she settled in quickly and is very happy there, plus she is doing very well.

Morrisons does not have the problems that Glenalmond or Strathallan had and the pupils at Morrisons are always very friendly and polite.

I have heard that Dollar has an excellent reputation.
