Will my dd's be a year apart in school.........

....dd1 was born Oct 2002 and dd2 was born Aug 2004. Do they go the year they turn 5 are do they have to be 5?

Dd1 is due to go in 2007 (I think?) and dd2 will be one of the youngest in 2008.

Am I completely wrong? I have been writing in on a piece of paper and getting in a muddle.

I think they will be a year apart. DD1 will be in the school year 2002-3 and DD2 will be in the school year 2003-4.

Depending on when my DS2/DD comes (due in September) they will either be one or two years apart as DS born in November 2003 (same school year as your DD2).

What if you had twins and one was born at 11.58 31 August and one was born at 00.03 1 September?

dd2 was 27 August so just makes it.

I went to school with 2 siblings in the same year. One was a September birthdya, the other an August one. Imagine that.

Dh scared me last night by suggesting we keep the baby gear in the loft instead of selling it 'just in case'. nOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Don't know what would happen with twins born either side of 31st August. I think they would be put in the same school year - at least I hope they would.

Sometimes twins are born further apart aren't they - especially when one has been born early and the other one stays in the womb for longer. Wonder what they would do then?

I'm sure with twins if it was THAT close the midwife would be a little judicious with the exact time she formally put down for the birth certs so they both got into the same schol year - wouldn't she?

mine will be a year apart too.... jess one of the youngest starting sept 2009, new baby one of the oldest starting sept 2010..... jess will already be 5 when she starts but only just, and new baby will be about 6 weeks off their 5th birthday.

No way am i starting jess at school when she has jsut turned 4 - too young in my opinion but i may change my mind!

Scumm - but surely mistake like this are made all the time- I was convinced ds was born on 24th (about 2 mins after midnight) but was later told he was born at 5 to 12 on the 23rd - the theatre clock was fast apparently, but I've only got Docs word for that, I'm sure not all hopsital clocks are checked for accuracy are they?

Maybe not, never thought of it like that! I have twins and I remember them being very careful with the times as it has to be written on the birth certificate.

My children are 1 year apart in school. Ds's DOB being 15.01.98 and dd being 31.08.99. She is the youngest in the class as my neighbour's ds who is in her class dob is 01.09.99!!!!!!
