Scholarship interview - show and tell!!

DD2 has been invited to a scholarship exam. She has to take an object (unrelated to school work) to talk about - what the heck!!
Help, anyone got experience of this and/or ideas of what to take and what sort of 'message' they may be looking for?

ds took his collection of swimming hats - sounds weird, but when he represents borough/school/county/club he gets a different hat

another friend took a lego mindstorms robot he'd made

it's just something to spark off a conversation, I wouldn't spend ages working out what message your dd is sending out!

Thanks all - she took an item related to an extracurricula activity she does of an evening. Talked about it in interview and also had to talk about a poem she was given 20mins before interview.
She got the scholarship!
