Could anyone let me know about the above school. I have heard it is a bit of a hothouse but would welcome some advice please.

Rocky, DH went there and loved it ? though that was 20+ years ago and schools change so much. He says it certainly wasn?t an academic hothouse in the 80s, or at least if it was, it passed him by

It does seem to have a more academic bent these days than it used to, but it?s also quite strong on arts and drama.

He says the best thing about it was that the boys weren?t all shoe-horned into a ?one size fits all? approach though he describes the teaching standards in those days as ?variable?. We see a number of his old school friends and their families on a regular basis and I have to confess they all seem pretty well-grounded to me and not at all snobby.

I know someone with a ds who goes there and they are very happy with it. Definitely not snobby, parents tend to be quite serious professional types. I would not call it a "hot house" but it is an academic school.

DH went there in the 1980's he did very well and enjoyed it, he would thoroughly recommend it.
Wanders off wondering if she knows mattellie
