Does anyone have any positive remarks to make about starting boarding school at 10? My son is pushing us to let him go.

No - but Worth's nearest neighbour, Ardingly College, is great. Served our three children brilliantly. Until we moved to Scotland last year we had one in pre-prep, one in the prep and one boarding at the senior school. Lovely place and would highly recommend. The head of boarding for the 8-13-year-olds is fab. The kids love her. Your son would have a great time maybe weekly boarding there.

Hi, Worth is literally 2 minutes from our UK home (we are abroad most of the time) and it has a very good reputation. DC1 and 2 went to a nearby prep school and quite a few of their friends from there moved onto Worth as well as Ardingly and Hurstpierpoint, all of which are excellent schools.
When I last looked at Worth it was mainly boys as it is only recently girls have been accepted.

DC1 and 2 did weekly boarding at their prep school for 6 months when I was abroad and at that time they would have been aged 10 and 13. DD was 10 and she loved the boarding but obviously its not for everyone. Is your DS at a school that offers boarding now so he could try it out? I know a few prep schools do offer it on an adhoc basis to give children the 'feel for it'.

Yes agreed. Ardingly's prep school does "taster" boarding nights, as I'm sure other places do, so if your son is pushing for you to let him board you could always let him try that sort of thing.

My dh and his brother both boarded there from the age of 8, they both loved it. It still has a very good reputation.

My DS just finished at Worth and was very happy there.
