My DD1 is what I would class as average intelligence but she is a whirlwind. Since she was very young she has needed to move and run around a lot, as she has a lot of "nervous" energy and it becomes detrimental to her if she doesn't use it up. I do have other children and none of them are like her! My concern is that since starting school she is developing some nervous tics and I know it's because she is not moving enough/doing enough exercise. They do PE but I don't think it's enough for her tbh and she does moan about it. They are not allowed to run around at playtime, just stand around in the playground, there is not much to do in the playground tbh. They used to be allowed skipping ropes but that's out now too. I wonder whether anyone has had a similar problem and how they've tackled it. She does do sports outside school hours (swimming, horseriding and dancing) but tbh I don't think they make up or it.
any opinions/advice welcome!
Emy

No skipping ropes ?!

You can't change the school*, gotta look at what you can do outside of school hours.

(*okay you could try, but probably impossible and much easier to tackle things out of school time, they aren't set up for such individual needs).
