Changing schools

wow what a long winded fart this has become , we had to move all of a suddern so means new schoools for kids , no longer can you contact school ask about space ,and bang next day kids in school.

Now its phone up planning and admissions oh yes we got space at that school but first you got to fill in form we are sending you then send back then were call school then check sysytems oh then will give you start date oh and will take 3- 4 weeks so thats means no school for dc

That sounds ridiculous!

When DD started school it was at pretty short notice, and I dropped the form in to the LA on the Thursday before term started Monday.

On Monday I rang to ask how long it was likely to be. The person I spoke to asked which school I'd chosen, told me she knew they had places, said she'd ring the school, and told me to ring the school in half an hour. DD was in school the following morning.

That was in 2006 - so not that long ago.
