a friend's son is applying for Comms and Media syudies at the above universities. I said I would find out anything I could (she is American)

Bournemouth has a very good reputation, my sister did lesiure marketing there. It specialises in vocational courses.

Loughborough particulalry good if he is sporty.

Comms and Media are particularly good at Goldsmiths and Bournemouth. Goldsmiths has the advantages of being part of University of London and there is a lot happening there in the field of arts, which makes for a lively campus. Bournemouth is very good on the more creative and practical end of media, such as animation or media arts. One of the best things about Loughborough is the Animation Academy, which has been really successful - so if the media interests are in animation, this too could be considered - but otherwise, probably not.
