I know you need special training to do teachers Perf Manag but what about TAs?
can anyone do it or do they have to be trained to do it?

our TAs have never been done before and would like to know.

Thanks

TAs should be PM'd by their line manager. Usually the line manager of a TA will also line manage teachers too, so will have been trained. Having said that, our 'training' took all of about 17 minutes.

long story but the head wants to do it.
he has never been interested in teachers PerfMan and doesn't value it. he hasn't been to any training. but because he thinks he can do it quicker than the trained person (training was a full day here) he wants to do the TAs who aren't happy about it as he is a dictator.

You might get more replies on the tes forum. Our TAs have never had performance management, your head sounds as lovely as mine !!

Get your union involved! Head teachers are terrified of union officials! They always know more than the head teachers! I am a teacher with close involvment with my union.
