Calling all MN teachers! GTC number...

Is it the same as DfES (DCSF?) number? Can't find a record of mine anywhere and their website is less than helpful.

It's an application form for a teaching post. Am applying to the school I last worked at to see if I can be taken on for two days a week rather than the full time person they want for maternity cover !

Met up with an old colleague the other week who said that they'd just advertised a maternity cover but the applications they were getting in were rubbish and that my old boss had suddenly got very excited when my name was mentioned and would rather have me for two days a week than anybody else. Only problem being that they'd already advertised it so have to go through the whole application malarkey and probably not get the job because I can only do part time! Silly old sod should just have called first.. Supect the new head (who doesn't know me) is much less amenable than his predecessor would have been..

I should like to point out that ordinarily my grammar and sentence construction is usually better than this, I just have two kids on my knee and my dad is trying to skype!

What a palava! If I were you I would put the number in twice. Chances are that the form was compiled by someone who didn't realise they are the same thing.
Good luck with your application. A personal recommendation can make the world of different so think positive!
