Because I am being told off about DD's attendance & she is competing nationally next month & needs 2 days off.

I need to find the document(s)/legislation which says what sort of absence it is

As I think I have a fight on my hands

There is a thread here where it is suggested something like this could be 'P'- approved sporting activity, and therefore classed as an attendance.

If you google
absence attendance codes Jan 09
then there is a word document from www.teachernet.gov.uk called REGISTRATION CODE: /\ which you can click on to open - might be useful

Thanks for that - they have phone to say that she is allowed to go as it is not an attendance issue

Appreciate your help

I think it might be covered under the same legislation that covers perfoming children adn therefore requires a licence from the LEA.

I'm not at home so would need to check that though.
