It is designed to help foreign students of English with vocabulary. However it's also reasonably good at helping English students. It gives you a word and you have to choose from one of 4 meanings. Then it adjusts the standard of the words based on whether you get it right or wrong. The words are sometimes rather obscure but overall it wasn't a bad site.
