How much does your after school club charge?

I think our after school club seems expensive for what it is.

For 2 children it is £14 from 3.15pm to 5.45pm.

They get a snack included, but this is along the lines of squash and a biscuit rather than anything substantial.

Just wondered if this is typical

we are in west london, it's a tenner from 3 til 550. they get a light tea rather than a snack. I think it's fab pricewise and brilliantly run

We live in the NorthWest.

That seems OK for two children. I pay £6.50 for one child from 3.10 to 6.00.

The school I work at doesn't have one on the premises, but the children go to one at the sports' centre next door (they pick up from us & from the infants' school round the corner) It costs £7 per child , or £6.80 if you're a member of the centre, which costs £6 a year for a junior member. It runs from 3.30 - 6pm, with a snack & drink, but they do get use of the sports facilities - there is always something like roller-skating or trampolining as well as quieter games & craft activities or computer/playstation games.

Ours charges £5.50 until 5.30pm and £6.50 until 6pm - runs from 3pm. It does include a sandwich, fruit and drink. There are also activities like baking etc so very good value for money.

Skedaddle, £14 for two children isn't that expensive, it works out to £2.80 an hour for qualified childcare.

£2.50 for 3.20pm to 6.30pm. Drink and biscuit so I send ds to school with a packed tea and insist he has school lunches.

You can't pay sessionally at ours it is £70 per term which is really cheap if you use it every day but expensive if you do as I would like to and just use it for an hour once or twice a week.

Local childminders and the after school club charge around £7.50 for 3pm to 6pm. Morning session is around £3.50 for the hour before school.

If you book all sessions for the week there is usually a 10% reduction.

Remember that numbers of children per adult are restricted under age 8. The use of the building will cost, the club will have to have PL insurance, and they will have to pay Ofsted registration fees, cover the cost of essential training for their staff (first aid, safeguarding etc). Also the cost of materials for the children to use is considerable - look at the cost of paper, paint, pencils and felt tips next time you go shopping.

i pay £115 per week for 2 children and i belive i get a discount on the 2nd child thats for breakfast and after school club.

After school is 3.30 - 6pm they also get a light snack, drink and activities.

I have just looked at my receipt and i pay £8 per child plus a discounted £7 for 2nd child.

£12 per child from 3 til 5.45. They do actually collect them from school and drive them there. Am assuming some of the others are maybe in the school? They do get a light snack and activities .

I can't believe mine is the most expensive, even more so then London. Is it because it is part of a private nursery? There are a couple more around but they are pretty similar in price, and all attached to nurseries.

I think it's just because they don't actually seem to do much once there that I felt it was a little pricey. At present we only use it in emergencies but am planning ahead to when I have dc3 and have to change my working pattern.

8 pounds for 3.20 to 6.00, which includes a healthy snack and drink, outside play, indoor play, games, crafts etc. There is a sibling discount, but I don't know what it is.

Also pay a membership fee of 35 (can't remember if this is annually or a one-off at the beginning)

Ours is £8.50 per child per session - 3.15pm - 6pm. Kids get toast and a drink and some play activities. Only used it once (for a free trial). I work at school and finish at 3.15pm so don't really need it, but thought it would be useful in a dire emergency.

£6.25 from 4 till 6pm (school look after them for free until 4pm)includes healthy snack/fruit/juice.

Blimey am I stuck in Groundhog Day? I answered this q only 2-3 weeks ago...um £9 after school from 3.15-6.15 with dinner thrown in.

Mine will be £6.00 per session upto 17.00 and £8.00 upto 17:45. That's in the NW

I live in an area where most mums don't work (or at least don't work til 6) and there aren't many clubs, so the ones that exist think they have a monopoly! Which clearly they do, as we're paying it ...

In cambridge and ours is £4.20 from 3.15 to 4.30, or £8.00 for 3.15 to 6, which includes dinner - not too bad I think.

I think ours works out at £7.50 per child for one afternoon session. It's £78 per week for 2 children for 7.30am - 6pm (excluding school hours, of course!) including breakfast and a snack after school. That's in inner London.

£7.50 per child, 3:15 until 6pm, tea is baked potato, pasta, noddles, rice kind of thing.
