DS came back from school and before bedtime, he did some kind of a test, where the teacher explained the 1st 6 questions to him.. and it struck to me .. omg, it was his SATS !

Have no clue how he has performed.. and feeling quite nervous. I know he wont be too bad with Maths, but English I'm not too sure..

Dont ask me why I'm nervous.. I'm just nervous thats all and him..

You know, I tihnk that's the way schools should always do SATS, not tell the parents in advance and not tell the children in advance.

That way performance will properly reflect ability, rather than just reflect how much cramming was done.

If he didn't know what he was doing, the school has done its job brilliantly!

I wish they hadn't told us in advance because my dd overheard me talking to oh about SATs starting this week and when she said to her teacher "am I doing sats today?" teacher said "no, we don't do sats here, only quizzes" thing is dd understood that they aren't anything to worry about and that the school was testing the teachers etc but now mummy is a liar!!
