so I painted my DCs' faces with a white cross on a red background and packed them off to school

only to realise, slightly late in the day, that St George favoured a RED cross on a WHITE background. My little darlings are wearing the Swiss flag instead

Obviously, it's nice to be able to give people something to smile about!

I planned a special St George's day activity for my tutor group that in my head was fabulous but in reality was rather crngeworthy, not least when realised I had downloaded the wrong version of the national anthem and rounded off tutor time by asking them to reflect on the great qualities of being English to a rather dodgy version of God save the Queen played on a sythesizer.

Be grateful you could do anything at all! I am in Wales and daren;t even hang my St george cross int eh window. The one year I did we got egged
