PTA types - help with budgetting for summer fair type events

Can anyone with school fair expertise give me a ball park figure for the cost of materials to run:

A face painting stall
or
A craft tent?

It's not actually for a school fair, but for a similar type of event on the local recreation ground. Numbers highly unpredictable but I'd want to budget for about 300 children.

Snazaroo face paints are about 3.99 each. You would need decent colours (perhaps decide what designs you will do, limit it, then choose colours around that.) Proper brushes are a must, plus mirrors, seats, etc.

Craft stall...well it depends on what you want to make.

Your local school might have a badge making machine you could borrow or hire.

these have lots of craft packs for fairs etc

Thanks Mrsmaidamess.

Good thought about limiting designs and therefore colours. I'm guessing that's going to work out cheaper than buying a kit.

Hadn't thought of badge-making - will ask around. It's a church/community event, so we may be able to call on equipment belonging to school/scout/guide groups that would like to promote themselves!
