Hi,

Sorry I'm starting a separate thread here. Does anybody go to Willington School in Wimbledon? Any feedback on the school is really appreciated. I'm more interested in the academic side of things.

Thanks !

I'd like to second this thread - would love to know more about the school...

MommyG are you considering it for DS? We're thinking about it....

Actually, I'm just selecting a few schools and this is one of them. But I want a school that is good in the academic front. So not sure where this sits.
Please can somebody help?

It's not known for being the most academic school. From what I've heard it's 'solid' - somewhere like Squirrels or possibly Rokeby would be more academic. No personal experience though - just what I've heard through friends who have considered it for their children.

How academic do you want? Do you have a 'goal' like one of the academic prep schools? If so I would ask Willington what their record is at sending boys onto Kings/Shrewsbury House/Colet Court...

Thank for you the info slummymomma.
Yes, I was looking at the more academic prep schools. I will ask them what you have said.
But do you know what are the other schools of that kind in the area that are like Squirrels?

Try Rokeby and maybe also The Rowans? Rowans is owned by Kings so will teach up to the required standard for them to pass the exam at 7+. Depends where exactly you are - the schools already mentioned are the Wimbledon ones. Don't know about schools outside Wimbledon - sorry!

A non selective school that does the best for every boy. Great help in recommending and choosing senior schools. Recent scholarships have included Harrow, Eton and Winchester. But as much attention, if not more, given to those that need help and support to get into their senior school.
