When are KS1 SATs?

DD is about to sit her KS2's. Hers are 11th May too. I think it is standard

DD1s teacher was talking about DD1 being at "2a" level at parents evening, whatever that means, and that she is entering her for a level 3 maths exam, so I assumed they were still going.

Week commencing 4th May here (after the bank holiday monday, so from Tues until Friday)

KS1 SATS not scrapped, just not formally published results as with KS2

Bit concerned, but the holiday isn't until mid-June, so I think we will be ok.

Not entirely sure I am happy with a 6yo taking 'exams' but I am hoping she has enough confidence that she wont get too stressed about them.

Our school hasn't mentioned them, other than giving the date and saying don't take children out of school that week. Appartently the children are not told what they are are doing. Other local schools have had special parents evenings to discuss the sats, and the children are practising like mad.

We haven't been given a date, but it seems DDs school is similar in attitude to yours, no pressure on the kids. They are meant to be a representation of how the kids are doing, not how much they can cram them with surely

Sometime in May. No holidays will be authorised during May for Yr2 or Yr6. Beyond that, the school is not telling us (or the children) what exact dates and has promised that Yr2 will be oblivious that they are doing them.

It used to be the assessments could be carried out any time in May, it was up to the school to timetable them. For Y2 that is - I think the dates are set for Y6. This was a few years back, it might have changed.

I thought ks1 SATs could be taken when the child was ready now ie. no fixed date for them. In practice my dss' school are doing them all together sometime in May. The KS2 ones are the week commencing 11th May.

Last year my daughter sat her last test on the Friday afternoon before they broke up for halfterm - siily time as they were all tired and ready for a holiday.
