Hi,
I will be moving back to London shortly, and am on the lookout for good independent schools for boys - y3 and reception (prefer SW). I'm looking for something that is very strong on academic side. Is there any good school you can recommend. If there is, and if we can get a place, then we will relocate to a house in the vicinity. I've heard of Squirrels in Wimbledon, but dont think I have any chance of getting in there. Can you recommend any other similar schools ?

Also, is there any guide to read about independent schools other than their own websites? Or any rating system?

Look at Kings College Wimbledon Prep, Collett Court Prep (St Pauls), Shrewsbury House School and Rokeby. These are from year 3 not reception(except maybe Rokeby) so you will need to find a pre-prep for ds2. If ds1 is going into year 3 in Sept 2009, I'd say finding a place is unlikely in any of these. Could be places for year 4 entry if you're very lucky.

You might get more help posting under Primary Education and head up with Prep-school in SW London.

Plenty of other good schools in the area. Try the Good Schools Guide (Google it). Its often recommended on here.

Good luck.
