Actually that is an incredily poor site. No mention of many of the world-famous public schools such as Eton, Harrow, Winchester, Charterhouse, Westminster, St Pauls, City of London....And not that much information on the schools that are there.

I'd start with the Good Schools Guide. They also run a school selection service if you want specific advice.

precisely how many threads are you going to go on to link to that site? we're not stupid you know ....

Do people actually choose a school based on a review written by the school itself then?

choochoochaboogie · 17/03/2009 10:34

I think some people do yes, especially if they live abroad, but you have to start somewhere, and then if you are sensible and care about your DC education you look everywhere else you can for reviews and ask for lots of advice from other people, positive and negative. Also you need to look around the school, but like the guides they are are only going to concentrate on their good points, they are trying to sell themselves after all, and God knows they need the cash in this day and age.....

Each to their own.
