For all those people looking for 'age appropriate' reading books for their DCs.......

I have recently found this site: Badger Publishing to be a great inspiration...

It's actually targeted at schools - it sells 'book boxes' for particular ages/ abilities etc

If you click through to the detail of each box you'll find some useful 'reading lists' to take to the library!

I suppose there's a risk that you might be duplicating school books, but at least it keeps you well away from the dreaded Magic Key and other reading schemes....

That is great, thank you.

I especially like the age target lists for different types of reader (unmotivated/challenging) I never know what to get for DD.

Marmaduke - Yes - I liked the lists for boys (I have 2 !) as it's sometimes hard to find stuff that interests them - especially DS2, who is only just free-reading.

Our local library lets you reserve kids books for free online, so I've sometimes just reserved about 6-8 from these lists then whizzed in to pick them up - fantastic...

(I do let the kids stop and browse too sometimes )
