Hi, can anyone tell me about this school?

What is good about it? What are the negatives?

Are there any good private alternatives of similar size for this school within a few miles?

Is it difficult to get a place here?

Thanks

Thanks loads for the advise ladies....sorry for taking so long to get back....After careful thought and review of other schools, I have now made the right decision for my son.

Don' t know whether any of you will still be following this but have just read this thread with interest.

We are fed up with overly competitive North london system and are considering a move out. We have a sporty clever boy who lacks confidence but he is getting more confidence as he realises that he is clever and talented..So our thinking is that Cumnor House will give him opportunities to excel in a variety of areas.

What about girls? What would you say about them? We have a clever girl who can be inconsistent in academic performance and boisterous. She is no wall flower and likes to do things her own way and often does this really successfully coming up with great ideas and methods and results. She is far from girly and is very physically strong and sporty. I don't want her edges smoothed or for her to be encouraged to be more girly. Do the girls get adequate attention in this mixed environment?

There are 2 Cumnor House Schools - one is a boys school in Croydon whilst the other is a co-ed in Daneshill. To date this thread has been about the Croydon boys school, so you may wish to start a thread about the Daneshill one? Or are you thinking of the Croydon one?
