I'm thinking of taking my ds out of school he is 10 and in year 5. He has not been having a great time at school and I am thinking of educating him at home. Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks Riven and Yurtgirl
He does want to leave, but I've said to him to have a good think about it next week at school, about leaving his friends and his after school clubs etc. I love spending time with him. When he is at school he is so withdrawn, but at home and out of school he is a different child, really confident. He has been put down so much by the teachers, he has no confidence when he is at school

Don't worry about him not being able to see his friends. He can still see them after school hours and on weekends. And there will be plenty of clubs/workshops that he can attend too.

My two younger girls have never been to school but have got to know many of the school children in our village. They are very much in demand, with the school children apparently finding them something of a 'novelty' because of not attending school.

I have said that to him, because he already does clubs out of school nearly every night of the week and has many friends there
