First of all can I just say I am NOT a pushy mother () but would like to help DS1 (8) a little more at home.

Are there any books anyone can recommend that he could do occasionally - ones that are fun rather than stuffy!!!!

Thanks.

I suggest you browse in WH Smith, they all try to be 'fun' rather than stuffy.

DC just like to go thru these kinds of workbooks too, just once in a while. I got a load in a charity shop, once.

Could also try websites. Lots of worksheets and interactive thingies (for English) on teachit.co.uk

The Carol Voderman maths books, despite her association with them (which just seems weird to me) are decent.

teachit is for membership only.

Try here for lots of great links to fun internet resources. Just type the subject you want ideas for in the search box at the top.
