Good luck to those whose DCs are applying next year - as Snorkle says, it's worth going for even if you don't think you'll get in, as it can be such a lottery.

Snorkle - Yes, medicine is terribly competitive countrywide. He seems to get tremendously good advice from school and they seem to have a lot of success getting their students into med schools. Thanks for info about that girl - it will be a good story to wheel out should he get rejected.
