Dear all,
I have just joined as I feel you could help!! My husband and I need to move from France back to the UK (we are British) witihn the next 6-8 weeks (totally unforeseen), having lived here for 2 and a half years. Our daughter who is 6 in 2 weeks has schooled here and completed the PS, MS and is currently in the GS. We are deeply sad she will need to leave but desperately want her to continue in the French system. Does anyone have any knowledge about this current school year and places witin the GS at the Lycee at Sth Ken? Does anyone have any idea the best way to try and secure a place and or our best alternative. We have to come back mid term and cannot delay for much longer.. Any thoughts would be so greatly appreaciated..
Best wishes

I guess that having been previously schooled in the French system she would have a case for staying there. No ideas but good luck!

The bilingual schools in Paris have places "reserved" for children coming from abroad ie French children returning to France or children arriving from abroad, but that is part of their deal with the French state. I don't know about the Lycée in London. Would it be a disaster if your DD went to an English primary school for now while you applied to the Lycée? There are also other French primary schools in London - the French consulate should have a list of all the official ones that follow the French NC.

Move, there's other french primary schools in London- I know of one called L'ile aux enfants in kentish town which is meant to be good.

There are other French schools in London. Here is the official list from the consulate web site.

Yes I've heard very good things about the one in Kentish Town. But I've also heard that it's over-subscribed.

Since you are due to move so soon, your best bet is probably just to ring them and ask if there would be a place available for your dd.
