What's the consensus?

If you take it in turns then no need to take anything as the hoster provides, but if the first time, how about a packet of cookies, or some organix biscuits for the kiddies (Assuming they are old enough)

Snaf · 16/10/2008 14:11

I usually take biscuits or cake.

LoveMyGirls · 16/10/2008 14:11

Cake or nice biscuits

needmorecoffee · 16/10/2008 14:19

never crossed my mind and then mumsnetters bought me posh biscuits n cakes this week when we did coffee at my house. And flowers. It was rather lovely.

ohdearwhatamess · 16/10/2008 14:23

If it is first time I'd take biscuits (unless a spur of the moment thing and I don't have any in the house).

always bring something

Spidermama · 16/10/2008 14:51

I brought some pastries and the hostess had made an incredibly gorgeous cake. My pastries sat sadly on the plate without being touched.

I hope she eats them later or at least gives them to the kids because they were maple and pecan and I really could do with one of them this afternoon.

How was the coffee morning spidermama ?
Did everyone take something ?

Spidermama · 16/10/2008 14:58

I think I'm the only one who brought something in the end. The boutiful hostess had catered more than adequately and my sad little pastries were superfluous.

you can bring them here spidermama. Maple and pecan sounds lovely.

Spidermama · 16/10/2008 15:55

That's the thing. I wanted to take them back at the end as she had so much cake etc she'd never get through it all ... but you can't really can you?

I've got a maple and pecan size hole in my stomach now.

In general cake karma terms, it'll all come back to you one day...

needmorecoffee · 16/10/2008 16:41

but will it be maple and pecan?
I must say I was touched when mumsnetters bought cake with them and flowers.

sunnydelight · 17/10/2008 08:01

Didn't we always bring wine. Whenever

Spidermama · 17/10/2008 18:47

Wish you were here Sunny.
It's strictly coffee these days. Apart from my lovely Greek friends of course. Thank God for them!
