Home Study - any tips to get motivated?

I am a 46 yo mum - stuck in a part-time retail job - and I decided to start a Home Study course in Book Keeping. It was fine to start with but now I am beginning to feel bored and I find myself incredibly difficult to get motivated to continue studying! The last time I looked at my books was just b4 Summer and it has been at least 5 months since I last send my assignment to my tutor. It's not that I have problems understanding (I have always like numbers), but things at home has somehow change and I am feeling very down.

I am contemplating a divorce - but I can't do anything now because I don't have any financial capability to do so. My husband is the main earner. I need to improve my situation - more so now. I really want to finish this course - to be able to support myself financially with a hopefully new career (at 47!) but it is so difficult to get going again! Any tips / help / advice from anyone is greatly appreciated! Thanx!

I tend to put my studying time on the calendar as an activity. Seeing it in b&w reminds me that it needs to be done. Also divide up the work into bite size pieces. 30 or 40 mins of study is better than trying to find time to do a 2 hr stint. Another thing you could do is write a list of your reasons for doing the course. That will help to focus your mind and hopefully help with your motivation.

Good luck
