Buying school uniform (with school logo) - where do you get it from? Through the school, from a shop? And please tell me...

... if you could order such items online, to then be delivered to the school where they would be taken home by your child, would you be glad to have that option?

I am responsible for school uniform distribution at dd's primary school and am considering whether to take up supplier's offer of online ordering for parents. Currently parents can fill in a form at school and have items brought home by their child. Online ordering would give option of a wider range of items, but would also mean that items would be more costly (50 p per piece) to cover p &p.

Can you get the office to send a letter out to parents to see if they have any views on this?

Personally, I wouldn't want to pay more for something I can already order through the school. But if a wider variety of items are available, then perhaps this would appeal to some parents.

If the prices were to be put up on all the items and not just on the online ordered ones, then I reckon parents might use the service.

Would online ordering replace filling in the form? If so, then it's not a good idea if it's more expensive (some people are on a tight budget). If it would just be one more option, then go for it. People can then decide for themselves if they want to pay more for the convenience or not.

It's all order online, and deliver direct to home, for us.

I think it's worth having as an option, as long as people who don't want to/can't pay extra can still do it the way they're used to.

We can fill in an order form online and e-mail it directly to the uniform shop who will then send the stuff home with the children. It doesn't cost any extra, but obviously it's different as it comes from shop stock rather than direct from the supplier.

we order through the school (both of the DS's schools) it's then delivered to them and we go and pick it up.

It would just be another option, people coudl still go into school and order.

I would love to be able to order the uniform online and have it delivered at home

If people can still go into school and order if they want to sounds like a nice choice for parents to have.

I would have loved to order ds uniform online as they only sell it in one shop here which over the summer hols has queues up the road..not fun with 3 children in tow.
