What are people's experience of montessori beyond 5 years? I would like to send my youngest dd to a montessori school near me which goes up to 7 and then to primary school.
Need some more advice before I take the plunge?

DS1 goes to a montessori nursery. I'd love him to be able to go to a montessori school but it's not an option for us.
Sounds great though.

I love the idea of it but am worried that she may not 'learn' what she needs to know for primary school! Am probably over analysing though!

Do you think she benefits from the montessori way of learning?

I have been to visit the nursery and just love the montessori way. I think dd2 would really enjoy it, she is pretty independent and a really happy child. I think montessori would suit her. Have I just answered my original question?

I think for me the problem would lie with the montessori school only going up to age 7. Then they transfer to a normal primary, but the others in the class have already made friends.
Not necessarily an issue really as people move houses and change schools, and confident children will just get on with it.

The real issues for us are that the school is just too far out of reach to be feasible, but also too expensive.
If these weren't issues, I'd definitely look into it more.

We did this and it worked out really well for ds. He was at Montessori fron age 3 to 7, then changed to regular primary last sept. He had no problems settling into new school and has made lots of friends. No problems from an academic point of view either.

That makes me feel better about this choice.

Do they just do mornings or do they do full days?
