The shirt is red and black, and the nametapes are white.

Any ideas?

No pockets.

The washing label is very small and folded in half iyswim and sewn into a hem.

I've just sewn one on the neck,it won't matter, there's a label in the seam on one side anyway !

On the base of the collar then you can't see it when it's tunred over, but also if required (and good idea to avoid "borrowing") is on the breast.

Isn't it amusing that some of us are trying to hide the nametape, and others are trying to make it as visible as possible?

Starmummy · 22/08/2008 07:20

I always thought it was meant to be visible because when the boys look for their shirts etc they can see it easily, because they certainly wont pick it up and root through the lost property pile IMH experience.

I always put name tapes on sports gear on the outside (on the sleeve/leg - easy to see who's nicked your clean kit instead of using their unwashed one!

They do nametape checks at dd's school once they hit year 3 and anyone without name tapes on the outside of their kit gets a note home.

It allows the teachers to see who is wearing the right stuff and who has swopped/half hinched someon else's!!
