Does anyone else's local authority send them a Patronising Glossy Magazine every term?

Or is it just ours that wastes our money like this?

Ours is called "Primary Times".

It's a great read. No, honest, it is.

It appears to presume that anybody who is so unfortunate or poor as to be sending their children to council school is some sort of congenital illiterate idiot with no idea of what to do with their children during the holidays, and that they can only be taught by this time-wasting, money-wasting publication taking pity on them and offering "handy hints".

About half of its pages are taken up with ads, four pages alone for the local independent schools - oooh, guess what face that caused me to pull?

Go, on - guess.

That's right.

Shall I do it again?

I wouldn't mind if it was actually a decent publication - offering the standard of debate, information and enetrtainment provided, say, on here.

But it's not.

It's shit.

I hope I am not alone.

your right, tis very patronising. Especially the one sent out in October half-term which advises parents to exercise caution when attending firework displays with children.

Can't remember name of it but we gt a very similar sounding magazine come home from school too. Not had it this term though, not so far anyway.

It just advertises things that are on for the coming holidays IIRR, pllus lots of ads.

If it is same one - not just the state school parents who are being targetted as not knowing how to entertain their children either.
