What qualifications do you need to be accepted on to an English degree course ??

Have been trying to find out, but most sites don't make it clear.

Also other than teacher what can you use an english degree for ??

the usual way of entry is 3 a levels - one of these in english literature,,,,,,grades C or above at most places....

Generally you would need a levels but as a mature student you can get onto a course without qualifications although it is better to have done some form of study before. An access course which lasts a year is a good route. If you are thinking about an English degree as a career move, I would say, think carefully there are a lot of English graduates out there. A lot go into teaching or media, pr that sort of thing. Often with a humanities degree you have to go on to further study to specialise in something.

Thanks guys, think i have decided not to do it now after all.

Think i've decided to do a part time access course and then see if i can get into SALT training.
