Attainment Targets for KS1/Y1

I'm trying to find out more about the grading system ie 1a, 2c etc. I've looked on www.nc.uk.net but can't find anything on it. Can anyone point me in the right direction please as trying to decipher DS's report.

I THINK they are expected to start KS1 (i.e. after reception which is the Foundation stage) at level 1c, and they move up two levels a year, so at the end of yr 1 an average child should bet at level 1a. At the end of Yr2 the same avaerage child should be at level 2b. HTH

To epand, 1a is average, 2c a bit above average - working at a level children half way through Yr 2 would be working at
