Hi everyone,
My son scored 210 in the Bexley 11+, narrowly missing the selective threshold of 212 by just 2 marks. He also passed the Kent Test with a score of 371. We currently live in Bromley.
His primary school has submitted a Headteacher Review, and we are now awaiting the outcome.
We’re considering Beths Grammar School, either through Criterion 8 or, if the Headteacher Review is successful, through the normal selective admissions route.
As the success rates for Headteacher Reviews and Criterion 8 admissions for 2026 aren’t publicly available, it’s difficult to assess how realistic his chances are.
I would really appreciate hearing from parents who have been in a similar situation.
- Has anyone secured a place at Beths through Criterion 8 with a similar Bexley score?
- Has anyone successfully gained a place following a favourable Headteacher Review?
- How realistic are his chances under either route?
- Would relocating closer to Beths significantly improve his chances, particularly under Criterion 8?
We’re trying to make an informed decision before the secondary school application deadline, so any firsthand experiences, advice or insights would be greatly appreciated.
